“Pleno Potencial”: the perfect combination of strategy, culture and internal communication

From its beginnings, in Hayduk we are committed to the development of activities that have a leadership vision, always working with quality to seek excellence. That´s why, aware of the importance of establishing the same direction, at the end of 2015, we elaborated the organizational planning called "Pleno Potencial". A business plan based on the Management Excellence Model Malcolm Baldrige.

Action lines


To reach the “Pleno Potencial”, we defined four action lines, which have been subdivided into eight initiatives led by management teams responsible for designing innovative projects that ensure compliance with the objectives and goals set.

The first is "to produce more flour", increasing the anchovy purchase from third parties and maximizing the production of our products for Indirect Human Consumption. Also, by "making processes more efficient" we will obtain lower costs in extraction, purchasing and production activities, maintaining quality. With the "profitability in the business line of “Frozen Products and Canned Fish", which is based on tuna, we will have raw material for a planned production and a new efficient distribution model. Added to the “Fish Meal and Fish Oil" business line, we will look for new markets that appreciate the flour with added value and we will promote the fish oil production and commercialization with omega 3.

Growth in the future


They have been years of intense work where we have obtained excellent results, however, now we are in a more mature stage, where we must take an active role as protagonists of this great challenge and directing all our actions to reach the "100% Pleno Potencial".
Therefore, through a series of internal communication strategies and cultural activities we will approach our people, valuing, connecting with their needs and empowering their strengths to achieve the expected results together.

"Pleno Potencial Tour"

The success of any strategy engrains in the commitment degree of its employees, added to a coherent culture in an environment that promotes: teamwork, innovation, quality, customer satisfaction, operational efficiency and corporate values.
The organizational culture is not only promoted by the leaders, but by all of us; therefore, we had the important mission of involving employees with the business strategy, empowering them as protagonists and change agents. With the "The Pleno Potencial Tour" launch we held communication workshops in the operation plants in Malabrigo, Coishco, Flota tierra, Végueta, Tambo de Mora, Paita and Lima, where through lectures, group dynamics, games and competitions we reinforced the Pleno Potencial concepts, the Hayduk Model of Excellence criteria, and the progress of each of our 8 initiatives.

5 minute talks
Through 5-minute weekly chats we share the Pleno Potencial concepts that are grounded in stories or small cases; because if we want to generate a real change, the actions must be coherent and sustainable over time.
The stories entitled "It happens in fisheries, it happens in real life", exemplify successful or preventive experiences for continuous improvement and complemented with playful or dynamic exercises we reinforce the concepts and raise the level of our employee’s concentration before starting their work.

In conjunction with all the staff, we recorded the music video entitled "We are 100% Pleno Potencial", where we not only wanted to communicate the new challenge for the following years, but to value the human resource and summarize the essence of the culture, evidencing the achievements thanks to the effort and commitment of all those who make up our corporation.
If you asked me what makes Hayduk different from other organizations, it would definitely be summarized in the following sentence: "We do it differently, we do it better", reiterating that if we move together, we will achieve excellence.
