Reto Hayduk: Promote a culture of healthy life in the organization

The healthy life and well-being of the people is one of the pillars in Hayduk, which directly impacts the employees. For that reason, we decided to implement the Healthy Living program named as Reto Hayduk, designed to foster a healthy culture aligned with our corporate mission.

Hayduk

It has different umbrella activities for workers such as delivery of the fruit of the month, active breaks and work gymnastics for the sea fleet group.

Program origin

The Reto Hayduk was created as a challenge because of a previous study, in which the results of the medical examinations carried out in 2017 were evaluated to the personnel on board that is distributed among crew members and kitchen managers.

This is how both occupational groups can participate in the different phases of the activity and accumulate points until reaching the final stage. As the name implies, the challenge is to reward employees with the highest score who have achieved the best results to reduce weight, cholesterol and triglycerides through the last period of the EMO 2018 (Occupational Medical Exam) performed in a medical establishment.

Reto Hayduk, promoting a healthy life

This initiative seeks to reduce the incidence of risk diseases such as overweight, cardiovascular problems or diabetes through the practice of
healthy habits from their workplace to their family environment, and from healthy workshops held by Hayduk for the preparation of healthy food.

The
four stages of the challenge include points that are accumulated by each of the collaborators and are the following:

Nutritional control: In this phase the collaborators are summoned for the EMO (Occupational Medical Exam) and can register in the program. Here you can find out your current health status and receive a meal plan.

Training: Developed by the Occupational Health and Safety area and nutrition specialists for employees and their families. The fleet kitchen managers receive tips to prepare healthy foods inside the boat.

Activity bonuses: The collaborators show photographs and videos of the healthy evidences practiced at work and home.

Final results: Finally, the participants will be evaluated again by nutritionists to test out the weight loss margin and improvement in health. Here the last points are accumulated, and the final count is made to choose the winners.

One year after the implementation of this program, we can point out that the indicators are favorable, and we are sure that this activity continues to promote healthy eating in each employees of our fleet.

Let's continue facing new challenges!
